Chartered
by an Act of Congress in 1920, The Theodore Roosevelt
Assocation provides authoritative information on
the life and ideals of Theodore Roosevelt.
There are many sites, both historical and contemporary,
associated with Theodore Roosevelt. Of course TR's
life and career carried him throughout the greater
Washington area from Pine Knot in Albermarle County
to the White House itself. Tributes to his legacy
include the Roosevelt Trail in Rock Creek Park --
site of several legendary 'Point-to-Point' walks
-- and Theodore Roosevelt Island in the middle of
the Potomac, to our Navy's great aircraft carrier
CVN 71 stationed in Norfolk. [more]
It's Not Just History
Although the Chapter includes
more than a few history buffs, there are many different
reasons that people join the TRA.
Our members are involved in the community, participating
in activities that reflect Theodore Roosevelt's
own wide-ranging interests and emphasis on public
service. The biannual clean-up of TR Island and
the Theodore Roosevelt Police Award are just two
of the events that keep us busy and help keep the
spirit alive. [more]
