About This Chapter

The Capital Area Chapter of the Theodore Roosevelt Association is an organization of TR enthusiasts in the Washington, DC Metro Area inclusive of Baltimore, Maryland, Norfolk, Virginia (the home of CVN-71, the USS Theodore Roosevelt) and Charlottesville, Virginia (the location of Pine Knot, the rustic presidential retreat used by TR, family and friends) who would like to be kept informed of and participate in events and activities in the region. The TRA is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy and ideals of Theodore Roosevelt, our 26th US President.

The Chapter hosts an annual Theodore Roosevelt® Police Award, which honors a local, state or federal law enforcement officer in the Washington DC region who as experienced an injury or illness and continues to render noteworthy service to his or her department. We also participate in bi-annual clean-ups of Theodore Roosevelt Island and TR birthday celebrations on the island. We also participate in other community service events.

You are welcome to join our discussion group; please introduce yourself upon doing so and let us know if you have any questions on how to join the TRA.
