Some of the activities of the chapter include:
The
Annual Dinner featuring noted authors or public
figures with a tie to Theodore Roosevelt.
2009 - Dr. Pamela Henson, director of institutional history at the Smithsonian Institution, spoke in detail about TR's 1909-1910 safari, putting it in the context of his relationship with the Smithsonian.
2008 Tefft Smith, distinguished antitrust attorney and TR enthusiast, discussed the evolution of antitrust law.
2007 James Reckner, professor of history and
director of the Vietnam Center at Texas Tech University, and author of Teddy Roosevelts Great White
Fleet.
2005 Dale Bosworth, Chief of the US Forest
Service, spoke on the centennial of the creation
of the US Forest Service.
2004 - Ed Renehan, author of The Lion's Pride:
Theodore Roosevelt and His Family in Peace and
War.
Theodore Roosevelt® Police Award, given
annually to a local, state or federal law enforcement
officer in the Washington, DC region who has experienced
a serious injury or illness and continues to render
praiseworthy service to his or her department and
the community after overcoming great adversity.

Theodore Roosevelt High School - The
chapter is developing several short- and long-term
projects to support the Washington, DC public
school and its students. In 2010 we will be hosting the First Annual Theodore Roosevelt Public Speaking Constest. Click

Theodore Roosevelt Island Cleanup is
a biannual event organized by the National Park
Service and the Potomac Conservancy. Our members,
along with other volunteer groups, spend the
morning collecting trash on the island to help
maintain its natural beauty.
Theodore Roosevelt Island TR Birthday Celebration
- Our chapter sponsors a scavenger hunt
for children during the annual Theodore Roosevelt
Island TR Birthday Celebration, held in October.
