Little Bighorn-Custer Battlefield Trip
Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument
Montana

As an addendum to the Strenuous Life Adventure in Medora, North Dakota, TRA member Keith Simon is offering a day-long guided tour of the Little Bighorn Battlefield. Making use of the results of a modern reappraisal of long-ignored Indian oral histories and recent archeological research, Keith will put you into the minds of the opposing forces that were locked in a struggle pitting one way of life and world view against another.

September 2008

September 2008 (Date TBD), 9:00 AM - Noon
Theodore Roosevelt Island Cleanup
Theodore Roosevelt Island
Washington, DC 20036

Spring and fall usually provide perfect weather for enjoying a visit to Theodore Roosevelt Island and -- what a coincidence -- island cleanups are held in April and September! Join us this September for our second cleanup of 2008. It's a combination of pitching in to maintain TR's memorial and a very real embracing of his conservation legacy. It's also an excuse to buy a few dozen Krispy Kremes and tramp around in the woods on a brisk morning.

Everyone is welcome to participate. Entrance to the park is located along the Northern lane of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Volunteers are asked to gather near the registration table a little before 9 AM so we can get instructions and walk over to the island as a group.
