CAC TRA Seeks Police Award Nominees

The Capital Area Chapter of the Theodore Roosevelt Association is seeking nominations for its fifth annual Theodore RooseveltŪ Police Award. The Theodore RooseveltŪ Police Award honors a deserving law enforcement officer who has overcome a serious handicap, illness, or injury and continues to render outstanding and praiseworthy service to his or her department.




Gifford Pinchot National Forest Centennial

On July 1, 2008 the Forest Service will launch a series of events to mark the centennial of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington State. Originally called the Columbia National Forest, it was created by an executive order of President Theodore Roosevelt and renamed in 1949 to honor Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the United States Forest Service.

Association Adds Two New Chapters

Two new chapters have joined the TRA. The additions include The Spectacle Club in Milwaukee and a group formed in Indianapolis. Now, the Association has affiliated chapters in Atlanta, Indianapolis, Portland, Milwaukee, and Nashville; as well as the regional New England Chapter, National Capital Area Chapter, Texas Chapter, Washington State Chapter, and the Friends of Sagamore Hill.
